Do I need a Chinese partner to be able to operate business in China?

Hi, sorry being late to read this question. In China, you have options either to find a Chinese partner or not. Any qualified foreign business or person may invest to set up a wholly foreign owned enterprise, i.e. WFOE. "Qualified" means you should have legal identity and good bank credit.

Not necessarily need a Chinese partner,because the law of the P.R.C. allow the set-up of enterprise with 100% foreign investment.But the regulations concerning foreign investment is complicated,and the policy towards different industrial area varies greatly.

I think it is necessary to consult a qualified Chinese lawyer to discuss the concrete problems of the prospective project before you decide to invest in the People's Republic of China.
