Legal Question in Criminal Law in Colorado

the police were in the area looking for a white male that just tried carjacking someone,and me and my friend were outside smoking a cigarette when we noticed the police driving up and down the street. after 45 minutes of them driving erratic, doing u-turns,flippng their lights on,even flashing their flash lights on us. we didnt budge. nearing close to an hour the police finally contacted us and found weed in my pocession. he asked to search my car and i said no. he called the dogs and found 1.7 grams of cocaine.dont they still need a search warrant to go inside my car?shouldnt my car be towed? im a black male 6\'1 190lbs. am i being stereotyped.

You should talk to an experienced criminal defense attorney the basis of the initial contact might not be reasonable and the search of the car may be unconstitutional.

From what you say, this may be an illegal search and seizure. If so, then any evidence the police found could not be used against you and the case would likely be dismissed. But you need to challenge the legality of the search in court. Good luck.
