Re: How can i get out of a subpoena

A subpoena that is properly served is a court order and violating it means that the court can hold you in contempt and put you in jail.

If you want out of the subpoena, you can move to quash it by contacting the Court and requesting that you not have to appear. If you have any useful information, then the Court will not quash it.

You might want to contact the attorney that subpoenaed you and discuss the issue with him or her. Sometimes the attorney will work with you to limit the amount of time you will have to be away from work.
