Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Colorado

Renting an apartment - No personal space?

My question is that my wife and I rented an apartment, which is more the basement of this house. One time we called because we didn't have heat and the landlord's son barged through our door without knocking to come fix it the next day.

Since then, my wife was taking a nap and they came to fix the upstairs up a bit more.. So she couldn't sleep. She heard them walk down the stairs to our door, heard them open it, and then close it again and go back upstairs.

I know this isn't acceptable, but is this lawful? Please let me know! Thanks!

Re: Renting an apartment - No personal space?

No. Unless the lease states otherwise, the landlord and his agents do not have the authority to enter your house unannounced. You should write a letter to your landlord telling him that he and his agents definitely do not have your permission to enter the apartment without at least one day advance notice. Make sure that you get any response from him also in writing.
