Legal Question in Social Security Law in Colorado

Social Security funds abuse

My ex-husband collected SS monies on myself and my daughter after we were divorced. Now the SS Admin. is keeping tax refunds and etc. from my daughter and myself to pay back these funds. I have appealed this but has not changed anything. They have kept my daughters income tax return. She has a learning disability and barely makes a living for herself. We need help and advice on where to start to get this fixed.

Re: Social Security funds abuse

You should immediately contact Social Security and request a "waiver" of the overpayment. You might also consider suing your ex-husband for return of the money.
