Legal Question in Traffic Law in Colorado

Question about traffic Accident

I was in an accident turning left on a yellow, and got hit and totaled my car. I was summoned to court for my failure to yield ticket and the accident was considered my fault. I got the accident report back and noticed that the driver who hit me was charged with expired tags, and driving with a suspended drivers license. Does this help me in any way when I go to court?

Re: Question about traffic Accident

It sounds like the other driver may well have his own issues to deal with in court, but the fact of no tags and a suspended license likely won't affect the liability in the accident. Unless of course there is a close question as to who was responsible and then those things could affect his credibility and consequently liability. That would likely require taking the case to trial, however, and I don't know if you would be willing to go through that.
