Can the principle of common law be used effectively when a business association has no active contract and one of the associates wants out of the association?

Also, is there such thing as a Fair Business Practice governmental (local or Federal) that can assist small business people when facing an injustice in business?

In order to provide an answer, you need to clarify the question. Namely, the type of association and any agreements between you and the other associate for starters. As a general rule, you have the right to sue if you have been wronged by an associate or business broker. These claims are derived from both common law and statute.
