Is a criminal background check done when creating a LLC?

As a Franchise Attorney I've never heard of criminal checks being done as part of creating an LLC. Usually, the state requires only the right paperwork, duly executed and accompanied by the correct filing fee. Consult with a good business or franchise attorney in your area for specific advice.
