Canine searches in at a high school

The high school that I attend performs random drug searches of everything on the school property with the help of drug sniffingj= dogs. Earlier today I was called out because my car was ''suspicious.'' I'm a senior and have made nothing but the best choices -- I've never smoked pot/had anyone in my car that did it or as even been buzzed as alcohol. Today they performed one of these searches in the student parking lot and had me taken out of class to unlock my doors for them to search. Knowing full well I was clean I let them search. After 10 minutes of me standing in the rain they found nothing and told me to go to class.

Later today, at around 6pm, when the rain had cleared and the sun was setting I noticed scratch marks all over my passenger door. Right through the clear coat, paint, and in some places even through the primer. There are clearly several scratches from their drug dogs. There are even two muddy paw marks clearly on my window and door. Their dogs clearly damaged my paint and it needs to be repainted.

I've talked to my Allstate Claims adjuster and he said I can make a case for my the paint to be fixed. Is there some way I can get restitution for the damage inflicted

First, I hope you took pictures of the damage immediatly after noticing it. Second, you may want to have an attorney draft a letter stating your damages with an enclosed estimate from a garage or mechanic. Give me a call. We'll talk. 203.380.8189. - Max
