Legal Question in Technology Law in Connecticut

Password Use

I believe that someone has gotten into my email account and from there accessed my credit card information online. No damage has been done, no money has been moved or lost and all I had to do was change the password again, because either I forgot it or the person changed it when they accessed the information. In the past I had given this person my email password so it is not unreasonable to think that this person still knows it and would use that as an attempt at the credit card information.

Is there anything I can do from a legal standpoint?

Re: Password Use

Probably not, since you gave that person your email password. I would think at this point, it's your responsibility to do everything you can to protect your personal information, including your credit card information.
