Re: marriage and transfer of debt

My fiance has had credit issues in the past. Could i be held liable for any debt incurred by her previous to marrying(in march!).

Creditors can not hold you liable for any debts she incurred prior to the marriage. Creditors can not hold you liable for any debts incurred by her during the marriage, except debts for medical treatment and debts held in joint names. Therefore, if she takes out a new credit card today and charges on it, you can not be held liable for it unless you are a signer or a co-signer on the account.
