Legal Question in Criminal Law in Connecticut

I was accused of stealing a computer.

I worked for a realtor over for 4 months. My boss bought a computer and told me that it was mine in exchange for the work I did for him. When I quit 3 weeks later he wanted it back but I didn't give it to him. I was told by the office broker to give it back in order to ''clear the air''. I didn't want to give it back and fabricated a story telling the broker I did give it back (this was a lie). My old boss (the realtor) contacted the police and pressed charges. I got scared and gave the computer back (along with many other concessions worth about 20 thousand dollars, (I was scared.)) in order for him to make it go away. After I did this he called me and said ''there is an irregularity in his banking statement'' and that I actually owe him even more money and if I don't pay up he is going to press charges. My last paycheck was for about 6K dollars and he says that is wrong and wants it back. Although if I ''referred all my clients to him'' that he wouldn't press charges (something to that effect).

While working for this realtor there were times that he gave me signed blank checks to pay his bills. I am concerned that he may say that this was one of these checks. No records were kept regarding what checks were given to me pre-signed.

You have a complicated scenario;made more complicated by your initial response. You definitely need to bring all your paperwork, agreements, etc. to a criminal attorney and review the whole matter in chronological order. Dennis P. McDonough
