Legal Question in Criminal Law in Connecticut

My daughter is 16 and was caught shoplifting a total of of $46.00 The police were called and released her into my husbands custody with a promise to appear in court. Do we need a lawyer? We cannot really afford one, and we make too much for legal aid. Will this be on her permanent record? The ticket reads Larceny 6 - misdemeanor.

If this is your daughters first offense, it is possible to keep it off her record. An attorney versed in the programs for juveniles can likely insure a speedy and satisfactory outcome on a larceny 6 charge. Please feel free to email or consult with us for further information. Depending on your circumstances you may find that you may be able to afford apropriate counsel for this limited purpose after all. [email protected]
