Legal Question in DUI Law in Connecticut

dwi in n.y. state, ct. resident and license

i am told at the arraignment date in ny, they will suspend my driving privledges in n.y. At what point will CT. also suspend my license? directly after my arraignment, or after a verdict in n.y. trial? And, is there any reason to get another attorney for ct. DMV hearing, or is it mandatory that they will suspend my license?

NY can only suspend your driving privileges in new york, they have no jurisdiction to suspend any other privileges... Connecticut would then chose what to do with your license, subsequent to the suspension here in NY. It may take quite some time, or it may be immediate - it all depends on the DMV in connecticut... i would absolutely suggest getting ocunsel to assist you with your case in CT as it may be possible to hold back the suspension, or even possibly keep the suspension from happening...

we are based in NY but have an office in CT, please give us a call for any further assistance at 212.709.8303 or email us back at the address below
