Legal Question in Family Law in Connecticut

I am a father to a 14 year old daughter with whom i have a very close relationship with. I have paid child support in time every week the entire 14 years as well as paying half of any medical bills or other necessay expenses. My ex wife does not work but her husband has a job in which he is due to lose because of the company closing. I am afraid she may take me to court for an increase in child support although she has neved once in 14 years asked for an increase. Would a judge be inclined to grant an increase even though in 14 years she has never asked for one?

There must be a substantial change in circumstances that relates to her income or your income. If she never worked and you make fairly the same amount that you made when you got divorced, then most likely a court will not give her an increase. However, if you are making substantially more now than you did 14 years ago, her husband's loss of income will not be a factor, your increase in income will.
