Give the Ring Back

My ex-fiance gave me an engagement ring. I gave up my house and we moved in togather along with my two children. Three months later he tells me that he is unhappy and that he feels we are not compatiable. He demands that I move out ASAP. He also asked for the ring back which I refuse to give him because he is the one who broke it off and who is now causing me extreme financial and emotional distress. Does he have the legal right to demand that the ring be returned?
