Legal Question in Family Law in Connecticut

I have never been married and have no children, but my fiancee has 2 children from a previous marriage. My income is significantly higher than both his and his ex-wife's. Will my salary be taken in to account for child support or is my money off limits?

You're safe. Not your kids, your income doesn't count.

I disagree with Attorney Heffernan. It could be considered if the facts warrant it. If your fiancee is benefitting from your income, it could be used to deviate from the guidelines, downward. Another words, the father could ask to pay less because of your income. You would never be ordered to pay any child support directly, however.
