If I buy a rental property out of state, should I get an LLC in that state or home state?

That's a great question. Almost certainly the state where the property is located should be where the LLC is setup. But really it would take more careful research to answer the question for your particular situation. Lots of seemingly minor facts may impact the answer.

Good luck.
