Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Connecticut

I am the executor of my sister's estate in CT. I had originally intended to do the work for free, but the beneficiaries (her kids and step-kids, all in their 20s) are squabbling and making the entire process extremely drawn-out, time-consuming and stressful. Can I charge something? (I'm a nurse's aide, not a professional executor.) If so, what can I charge?

Absolutely, the situation you describe is unfortunately very common. Although there is no formulaic or standard % fee, you can certainly request a reasonable fee if you can substantiate the time and cost. Please feel free to contact me for further information.
