Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Connecticut

My Mother is 88 years old and is financially very well off. I have recently found out that she has been giving my 33 year old nephew very large sums of money. She said he has perscription bills. They have totaled more than 300,000. He's over there several times a week for a check. He spent time in a drug rehab a couple of years ago and I'm sure he's doing drugs again. She is in denial and continues to give him money. What can I do to stop it? She has been taking it out of a family trust which I am a trustee on.

You need to discuss this matter with an attorney who specializes in trust and estate work. You may be able to stop the withdrawals as the trustee. Furthermore, she may not be competent and may require a conservator.
