Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Connecticut

If a sibling has been mutually provided (by other siblings) power of attorney for a medically and mentally declining parent do they retain power of attorney over the parents estate after the passing of the parent. This is the only remaining parent. A will was in place.

The power of attorney expires with the death of the parent. I'm assuming that the power was given by the parent to the child. If the power was given by the other siblings to the one child, I suppose it's still in effect, although without seeing its provisions I can't tell if it's worth anything now.
