Costa Rica Divorce

My husband and I are Americans. Can he get a divorce from me without my permission, with no residency requirements, and not have to pay alimony, etc.? Would this kind of divorce, if possible, be valid, and can it be contested in American courts?

I am not familiar with Costa Rican divorces. However, for the divorce to be valid and recognized in Connecticut, I do believe it has to satisfy Connecticut's statutory and other legal standards. In other words, the question becomes, would it be valid in Connecticut if it were filed, served, etc. the way it was done in Costa Rica.
