Legal Question in Business Law in Delaware

Foreign corporation question

I'm starting a home-based internet retail business. I incorporated my business in Delaware, but our home office is in Illinois. We incorporated through LegalZoom and in our corporation packet they asked us to check our home state if we qualify as a ''foreign corporation'' in Illinois. We would have to register our corporation in IL, as well, if we qualify as a foreign corporation. We are including my wife's massage therapy business under our corporation, as well. Her business is home-based, as well. Based on the above information, does our Delaware corporation qualify as a foreign corporation in the state of Illinois? Our home is in Illinois and we have never lived in Delaware. There were tax advantages to incorporating in Delaware. We need to know if we should register our corporation as a foreign corporation in Illinois. Please let me know if you need more info to answer the question.

Re: Foreign corporation question

Incorporation services are only a good value if you know whether you should incorporate, where to incorporate, and why. Based on what you've said, it is likely you'll need to register as a foreign corp in IL, wiping out any supposed tax advantages and making things generally more complicated than they need to be.
