Legal Question in Legal Ethics in Delaware

Unwanted location change

I work for a large retailer with about 600 locations.

The location I run is doing well passing operational audits.

I personally scored above 90 (100 total) on a personal review.

They recently promoted another store manager and need to replace him and I am being told that I have to switch locations against my will. The new location generates more sales and is suppose to be a higher profile location giving me more exposure and better opportunity to advance. The are not offering me any compensation to take on more reasonability but just telling me that I have to do this!

Can they make me switch locations against my will?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank You.

Re: Unwanted location change

Unless you have an employment agreement or union contract which specifies otherwise, job assignment is the perogative of the employer and you will have to accept the new assignment or the consequences for refusing.
