Rights of a Retired Police Officers Wife

I would like to know if I am entitled to half of my

husband's retirement if I divorce him? He was a

Metropolitian Police Officer in the District of Columbia.

You are entitled to a portion of the retirement, but whether it's half or less depends on how long you've been married and how long he's been in the plan. If all of the retirement benefits were earned after you were married, you probably have a good claim on half, but it's not automatic. If the two of you can't agree on a fair division, a judge will decide who gets what.
