Legal Question in Immigration Law in District of Columbia

does this affect my status...

hi

i applied for h1 on april 1st 2008, and got it approved on april 24th 2008 along with change of status

approved for f1 to h1..starting october 1st 2008.. was on OPT when my h1 got approved, and my OPT was valid until june 30th 2008...

in the interim, got registered for second masters with the same university, to maintain my status until oct 1st 2008..

but then, i left US on june 1s 2008, and reentered again on june 10th 2008..on f1 visa again...

on oct 1st, i informed my universtiy about my h1 start and they terminated my SEVIS record and had been working in US since then on h1,never left US..and havent got my h1 visa stamping yet

does my interim travel after h1b change of status approval and before oct 1st 2008, has any affect on my change of status approval..

please suggest...

Re: does this affect my status...

USCIS issued a memo saying that a person who travelled in your type of situation did not cancel the change of status (COS) due to take effect later. So even if you travelled in F-1 status after the COS was approved, you still changed to H-1B on 10/1/08.
