Legal Question in International Law in Dominican Republic

Legal caretaker of donations to a charity in the Dominican Republic

Last summer I went on a mission trip to the Dominican Republic (DR) and visited two feeding centers for starving children who live in garbage dumps in Santiago. The funding for these feeding centers are soon to run out and I want to sponser these centers financially. I do not have any idea how to begin to assure that these funds will be distributed entirely to this charity. Could you tell me how to find legal over-site that can be trusted to use the money only for food for these children? Your help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Re: Legal caretaker of donations to a charity in the Dominican Republic

Here in Dominican Republic donations are regulated by law in that they are legal and possible. However, the way that donations are effected is regulated privately. In essence, you can donate (sponsor) the feeeding center of your choice by just sending them the money directly or through a trustee. You can either contact the person in charge of the feeding center directly or use our lawfirm as a trustee to distribute the funds according to your instructions. When using a trustee, a document will be drafted where the beneficiary(ies) will be estipulated, the funds to be distribute, the purpose for which the funds will be used for, among other legal terms.
