Granishment/ Bankrupcy

If a debt collector garnished my bank account and I filed for Bankrupcy before a court hearing what happens to my bank account ? Do I lose it ?

Filing bankruptcy will, at least temporarily, prevent further garnishment while the bankruptcy case is pending. An "automatic stay" takes effect preventing further action from your creditors. Furthermore, it may be possible to avoid the judgment lien in bankruptcy allowing you to possibly get the debt discharged.
