Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Florida

Obtain motorcycle title from bankrupt dealership

In February, 1997, I bought a motorcycle from a dealership in Panama City, Florida. I paid them $10,000 cash and drove the cycle home with temporary tags. I have not received the title, tags or registration. I called Honda credit corporation and was told that the dealership is in chapter 11 bankruptcy. What should I do?

Obtaining Title

The very first thing you need to do is find out the attorney for the dealership. You can do this by calling the Panama City Division for the Northern District of Florida. Put your complaint into writing with a copy to the court and the trustee. I would argue that you are the rightful owner of the motorcycle and should have the registration and title. Do you know if Honda Credit Corp. ever transferred the amount of the loan to the dealership? That could have some bearing on this.
