can a employer add additional duties to your original signed job description that is significant in nature?

Yes, unless your job description was part of an employment contract signed by your employer. There is no law which prevents an employer from adding to job duties, even if those job duties are significantly greater than originally described.

Sure -- unless you have a contract that prevents it. The signature on a job description is just an aknowledgement that you know what is expected. It can and does change.
