Legal Question in Business Law in Florida

Can I be detained in Panama (the country) for having unpaid legal fees to a law firm? There is a representation dispute. I want to go on a fishing trip and am worried of some possible shenanigans... Can they hold me for any reason if they put my passport # on alert or some credit violation???

If you have not committed a crime but owe a balance to a firm here in Florida or the U.S., that will not cause you to be detained in another country. If you have some issues with debts you owe in Panama, then you should consult with an attorney licensed to practice law in Panama about whether you will have any restrictions on travel.

The other attorney is right on point. If you owe a firm here, no problems. If you owe a firm over there, check with an attorney in Panama. Consult with an attorney in your area for specifics.
