Legal Question in Business Law in Florida

franchise law

I purchased a franchise in 2005. A few months after buying this franchise, the ceo of the franchise claimed to be insolvent if a federal court. Is there any way I can still recieve my money back. After recent reseach I found out that this company is still offering franchises in my state. I was not able to open this franchise because the franchisor did not receive the rights to use the name in the state I bought it for.

NOTE: This communication is not intended as and should not be interpreted as legal advice. Rather, it is intended solely as a general discussion of legal principles. You should not rely on or take action based on this communication without first presenting ALL relevant details to a competent attorney in your jurisdiction and then receiving the attorney's individualized advice for you. By reading the "Response" to your question or comment, you agree that the opinion expressed is not intended to, nor does it, create any attorney-client relationship, nor does it constitute legal advice to any person reviewing such information, nor will it be considered an attorney-client privileged communication. If you do not agree, then stop right here, and do not read any further.

I would immediately consult an attorney to review all of the facts of your problem including the franchise agreement. Further, is the franchisor operating in the other states with the same corporate identity? Without knowing more information, it is impossible to give any viable suggestions.
