Legal Question in Business Law in Florida

Legality of Employment

I received an email from the owner of Cheap Fabrics in Windsor, Berkshire, offering an ''employment opportunity.'' He has a company that sells fabrics online and would like a representative to receive monies for him in the US. He states the person would be entitled to a 10% commission for receiving these funds, and would only have to wire the remaining funds to him in the UK. Is this legal? Would there be any repurcussions on my end for receiving these payments?

Re: Legality of Employment

Sounds like a variation of the infamous Nigeria internet scams.

If you had no prior relationship this alleged entity and the email was unsolicited, delete the email and RUN AWAY!!

Re: Legality of Employment

IT IS A SCAM. DO NOT DO IT.

The scam is that the check are stolen or forged. As such the bank may charge the item back to you for up two years afterward. Certainly after you have sent the "employer's" share onward. Ouch !!
