Legal Question in Business Law in Florida

mechanics lien

I have done work for several contractors and in the past they paid me, however, since the economy started to go for the worse they took longer and longer to pay and asked me to bare with them. weeks have now turned into months and they are not returning my calls or emails. I am sure I am past the time to place a mechanics lien. Do I have any other recourse to get paid for the work that was completed?

Re: mechanics lien

You may have recourse if you gave the Owner a Notice to Owner. That will allow you to demand payment directly from the owner.

If you did not provide a Notice to Owner, you still may have recourse, but your options are more limited.
