Legal Question in Business Law in Florida

I have a small business and have been leasing the suite for about 5 months now. Since the begining I have requested for the fans to be fixed in the warehouse. I have employees working in the warehouse most of the day. I have repeatedly requested for the fans to be fixed since 3 weeks into the contract. Since it's been over 3 months now since i have made the same request and several others a long the way. Stated in contract, the building met all safety requirements, when in fact they do not. Can i with hold the rent from the landlord to speed things along to correct the problems?

No. But there may be a procedure in law to force the landlord to address the situation. If they fail you may be able to get out of the lease. You need to consult with an attorney on this.

The other attorney is right. There is no repair and deduct in commercial leases. That is, unless this is specified in the lease - which is very, very unlikely. Consult with a good real estate attorney in your area for specific advice on this issue.
