Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Florida

Hello, i was arrested once when i was 14 in 2004 for aggravated stalking due to a fight that was gonna happen but never did, in result i was never convicted or encarcerated and my charges were dropped at court now in 2012 iam 21 about 3 months from now july i was pulled over by police after a club night i never drank nor showed signs of being under any influence but i was searched and the cop found a little bit of marijuana he arrested me but then let me go with a court date i was never encarcerated either....i showed up to court and they put me in a diversion/probation program iam trying to get a security license and to take my concealed weapons classes to carry a gun for a new job i was offered will this give me any problems? Will my weapons permit be denied? Will i not be able to buy a gun? The position for security is FIR officer? They are security officers but are allowed to hold concealed weapons.

You should talk to your current lawyer about your entire record. It sounds like your original charge from 14 won't affect you, as it was dropped.

But if you are currently on probation for possession of cannabis, that may affect a background check for your new job.

It's important to know whether you were adjudicated guilty or if your adjudication was withheld. I don't know from the information you present.
