Legal Question in Construction Law in Florida

Poor tile installation

I recently had a backsplash installed

and the installer did a very poor job.

The company that contracted him

agreed and offered to correct it by

sending the same person back. Is

there a ''right to repair'' law in

Florida, that requires me to allow the

same installer to come back? The

contractor has told me that I have no

choice and must allow that installer

the opportunity to repair before they

send another installer.

Re: Poor tile installation

What is the problem. It is pool tile. Why not let them try to fix it. It is almost certainly not worth the time or expense to sue over, so give them a shot.

Re: Poor tile installation

Yes, an owner must give a contractor the opportunity to correct. I have written a very long article on this which is found at http://www.theconstructionlawyers.com/word/articles/OWNERSMUSTGIVENOTICEOFDEFECTS.htm

Good luck,
