Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

I cosigned on a vehicle through Ford Motor company. The other individual on the lease was the sole user of the vehicle, I only signed to help get the car. The indifividual ended up dropping their collision insurance and went on the total the vehicle. Ford is now comming after me for the the remaining 10k due on the car, they have since sent me a court summons. The individual that wrecked the car was ticketed and found at fault for totaling the vehicle. What are my options, I have never made one payment for purchase towards the vehicle, the other individual that was on the lease had taken full responsibility for it up until now.

When you cosign - you are responsible. You will 1. have to pay the amount due and 2. you will neex to sue the owner of the vehicle to reimburse you.
