Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

Credit Debt and Collections

I am in the state of Florida and have been told that if a debt is sold to another agency for collection, the debt is no longer valid in the state of Florida, making the debt null and void. Meaning that the person in debt is no longer obligated to pay. Is this true? Also, I would like to know what the statute of limitations for collecting a debt in the State of Florida is?

Re: Credit Debt and Collections

Not true at all.

Time limit depends on what the debt was for, generally.
