Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

debt collections

debt collector sent letter notice of default and demand for execution order filing in court. this is not the original creditor and i made an agreement to make payments. but i tried to ask for lump sum payment and what they would accept...and was told i owed more than i show i owed. had to stop making payments and now receive this letter. what options do i have?

The terms you are using in your question are non-standard. I am not certain what you are referring to by a Demand for Execution Order Filing in Court.

You should probably consult with an attorney who can take a moment to review the letter to give you a better idea of what stage of the collection process you are in.

To answer at least part of your question, though, it is not uncommon for interest to accrue on debts and thus you would owe more than the amount shown on the most recent letter. Interest can accrue daily, but it depends upon your contract.
