Am I obligated to pay a credit card debt that was in my deceased wifes name only?

Let's make sure we are on the same page. If the credit card account was in your wife's name only, then no, even if you were an authorized user of the account. If, however, you were a co-owner of the account, even if you never made a purchase yourself, then yes.
