Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

I do not own a car and I rent and have no other assets to convert to cash. I will be 70 years old in May. I wrote letters to my credit card companys prior to stopping payments to them. What is the limit on their harrassing phone calls? I'm still in a hospital and probably will be for 4-6 weeks more (already here 8 weeks. Then go home with aid & assisstance.

The credit card company must comply with the Fair Debt Collections Act. They may not harrass you and there are certain notices under the Act that you can give them to contest the debt if appropriate.
