Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

I recieved a summons a few days ago that Discover card is suing me. I'm almost 59 years old and have been out of work over 3 years and have no way of paying the $11,263.99. I do not own a home anymore and I have been living with a friend, my back account shows a $0 balance. I basically have nothing. What can I do?

The only way to be legally relieved of the debt is to file bankruptcy. First however you must respond to the summons or a default will be entered against you.

Be sure y ou respond to the summons. If you let them default against you, at some point in time down the road when you least expect it - they will be after you.
