Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Florida

student loan debt collection

I cosigned on my brothers student loan. He faulted and it went to a collection agency, who is after me. They didn't like it, but i sent them $500 down and $200 a month starting sept 2006. By dec 2006 they started sending me monthly invoices stateing ''This is a reminder of your payment arrangement with---------services, as agreed, it is important you remittance of $200 is recieved in this office by-----.'' It goes on to say ''your payment plan'' and gives me a return envolope. Now, over a year later, thier telling me there is no payment arrangement and they won't me to get a loan to pay them off. Do I have any legal recourse?

Re: student loan debt collection

If you made all payments in a timely fashion and can prove it, then a court should find that an agreement was reached and enforce it.
