change sticker

i changed a sticker on a thrift store wallet......that i thought was just priced wrong by someone......i put a sticker on that was the price of the others......i paid for it then got stopped......i offered pay difference.......all walets were 76 cent or 1.06 .....i did not intend to steal the wallet......i realize i should have had someone in store check it but that is the mistake i made......i paid for the wallet...they kept money and wallet and i have a court date.......i am innocent of petty theft.....i did not intend to steal it......i made a mistake in changing it myself..........i would never steal........should i plead guilty? for i am guilty of changing sticker but did not intend to steal the wallet......i have my reciept.......and do i need a lawyer? how much usually will this cost..........? i ask the sec. officer and the officer to go look themselves and see that it was not a normal price on the wallets.....and what my thinking was.......they did not........please let me know.......i am not a stealing person

Re: change sticker

If you have no prior arrest or criminal record, you probably want an experienced criminal attorney who can get you into a pretrial diversion program (whereby the charge against you can be dismissed by the State after your successful completion of the program).

Please check out my website at: www.slavinlawfirm.com where I have some information on theft related offenses.

If you are successful in getting into and completing a diversionary program, you may then be eligible to have your arrest record from this incident sealed or expunged.

Please call my office to discuss these options further. I will be here all afternoon.

My best,

Aaron J. Slavin, Esq.
