Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

Confusion about Sealing Process

About seven months ago I was arrested for misdemeanor possession of paraphernalia in Ft. Myers. I was held for a little over 24 hours and got Adj. Withheld.

I'm working on getting it sealed now but am confused to the process; I've done everything up to getting my Certificate of Eligibility but am not sure exactly what ''filing a petition along with the COE in the court of proper jurisdiction means''. I've talked to both people Lee County Clerks Office and FDLE and neither was very much help. The one lady said that I MUST either go to ft myers or send an attorney but both is inconvenient as I no longer live there nor have money for an attorney.

What forms do I need to petition? Do I need an appointment?

Any help or at least pointing me in the right direction would be appreciated as I'd like to get this part of my life done with.

You will need to file a motion with your certificate in court and will most likely have to appear in front of the judge who handled the case.

I have an office in Fort Myers and can do it for you for a fair price. Probably less than what it would take to come down here and do it yourself.

Feel free to give me a call.
