Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

I was in my ex-boyfriends car infront of his house with and the police had come to his car because he hd a warrant so they asked us both to get out. They said they had smelled marajuana ad asked if either of us had smoked nd we said no which we were't. So they asked him if they could search the car because they said the smell was very stron and he said yes. They checked him and I and found nothing... they also asked me if i've seen him with any marajuana and i told them no. They eventually found a little marajuana wrapped up in a receipt in the middle compartment in the car ad again they asked me if i knew about it and i said no and so did he. When they opened up the receipt it had my name on it and they said whyis it wrapped up in a paper with my name. I told thm i did not know and that i had a pile of papers i the back of his car that said financial papers. They said well since he says it isn't hi and i said it wasn't mine they were gonna charge me. I'm tryig to go to nursing school in jan and get a job in the hospital how can i beat this?

You need to speak with a local criminal defense attorney as soon as possible. If you can't afford one, the Judge will assign you a public defender. Your attorney will be able to review the allegations and any possible defenses.
