Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

Me and my father got into an argument a few days ago and he eventually said he would send me back to my mothers house because he was tired of arguing with me. I left my mothers house due to her boyfriend grabbing me by the neck and threatening me. My mother did nothing about it and my father flew from Texas to live with me. So as he claims he will send me back to my mothers, I'm standing in front of the door trying to calm him down pleading with him not to send back to her house. He is extremely angry and opens the window and breaks it. At this point Im already backed up far away from him and he walks out the door. He calls the cops and I'm still begging

Him not to send me back. The cops arrive at our house and they take me to the juvenile detention center. He charged me with domestic violence/ assault and I was put on a gps for 2 weeks until the court date. He claims he broke the window to get out the door but he honestly broke it out of his own anger. I did not physically harm or injure him and I was still put in the juvenile detention center and released on a gps. I don't know what to do during court in 2 weeks. I've honestly done nothing wrong and I don't understand how someone can be charged with domestic violence if they haven't done anything wrong. All I did was try to calm him down and he's the one who broke a window. I'm just asking, could someone please give me advice on what to do.

There are certainly issues that need to be addressed beyond the legal issues here. However, my best advice I can give you is that you need to talk to your attorney. If you can afford an attorney great, go get one. If not, don't worry, you'll be able to talk to a public defender. Explain to them EVERYTHING that happened. They can help you with your case and help you fight it so that you might be able to avoid having this on your record. Furthermore, the public defender has access to public services that may help you in other areas as well.
