Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida

Grand Theft and Forgery

I was arrested about 2 months ago, for writing about 75 bad checks and forgery. They were from my mom's account, which was a closed account. I signed her name on the checks. Now I am waiting for my court date and going to proceed after that. I am interested in knowing what kind of crime this is and what the maxium penalty is. I am 17 years old, turning 18 in the begining of March. Thank you for your time.

Re: Grand Theft and Forgery

More than likely you will prosecuted as a juvenile. IF that is the case then you probably get probation, PLUS you will have to pay back all of the money. IF you are prosecuted as an adult you could face some prison time as a youthful offender. Either way YOU need an attorney. IF you cannot afford one use the Public Defender. GOOD LUCK...
