Legal Question in Criminal Law in Florida
first offense petty theft
my boyfriend and i were caught shoplifting and have to go to court. Is it a good idea to get lawyer or is this something we can just go and handle our selves? Also, for a firt offense, whats the normal consquences? We know court fees but what else is normal? Thanks

Yes, get a lawyer. Probation is customary.
